Another chilly morning here. I'm lying in bed listening to a podcast and gearing up to face the day.

Morning all I’m in bed too Gers but braved the cold to go down and bring my breakfast up to have iin bed. Is this what retirement is like? If so I think I’ll have some of that next year! I’ll get up in a mo to start off a casserole for dinner. Have some washing to put on the airer and a food delivery between 9-10. Stay safe and warm everyone x10

Morning folks and thanks GERS. More snow overnight and this morning we have fog as well. Can this weather get any more depressing? We are set to reach the dizzy heights of 1 deg this afternoon with more snow forecast for tonight. It looked very pretty when I got up but the plough/gritter has just been up to spoil it!
CHRISCA I have been retired almost 18 years and have never once had breakfast in bed! It's not my thing but I am partial to a nice coffee before I get up.
It's definitely a comfort eating day today so I am having sausage and mash with onion gravy for my lunch. Veg has been prepped but still potatoes to peel.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and poorly loved ones. Take care all, stay safe and keep warm xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning all; still chilly here.
Yesterday's 90th birthday tea was lovely, although I hadn't seen our friend to chat to for some years and was somewhat surprised at the number of great grandchildren there. I've arranged to meet her daughter, who I have kept in touch with, for a pub lunch in January, as she's about to stop work.
Today I'm off to a Care Home about an hour's drive away, where my Morris side is booked to dance and play music for them. We have then been invited to join them for tea, which sounds lovely. We have been there a couple of times before, but not since Covid struck.
Other than that I shall be chilling at home so hope everyone else is keeping warm and cosy.13 -
Morning All
Snow still on the ground but there hasn't been any more thank goodness. I may have to go down to the grit bin to put on the drive, will also do my neighbours along the road, although we are due to have the tropical temperature of 2 degrees later so it could all melt.
I had a lovely day yesterday, got the train into Glasgow and had a look around, bought a couple of small presents and some stocking fillers then had a really lovely meal with some great company. I'm out later to a friends for my dinner - looking forward to that.
Washing to do but not a lot else, I've ironed all my Christmas tops to wear to school for the next few weeks, may get some decorations out later but I haven't yet got a tree - too early for that.
Hope everyone is safe and warm, have a peaceful Sunday. Take care. XX12 -
Morning all. We have had a good few inches of snow during the evening and night, our temp has gone from -3 to 1 deg. Took the dog out early this morning, she loves a good roll about in snow. We were going to go to a Christmas gift market this morning but it's at a stately home with a big long uphill drive which might be slippy. It's a bit further North than us so I bet it will be tricky to get there.Shame, I enjoy going there to the normal monthly Farmers markets & was hoping to pick up a few bits. Never mind, can't risk DH slipping and hurting his dodgy hip.Went to Mr T yesterday & bumped into DS & DGS.I knew they were going for haircuts and apparently DGS spotted the van in the carpark and hunted us down
.DS was talking to a pal so I went to wait with young'un so he didnt miss his slot. DH wanted to get some wine on offer, ready for Xmas, so that's stashed away now.
We treated ourselves to a takeaway curry from our favourite place last night, they are a restaurant as well & are usually busy but it came really quickly.I can't decide what to do for tea, I have some roast beef sliced in gravy in the freezer, and frozen yorkies so that would make a quick meal and make some space too, and a sticky toffee pud.If we're not going out DH will carry on with the wardrobes/bedroom.The old big tv has been taken down off the wall and is now waiting to be got rid of, I don't know if the CS would want it, it's not a smart tv.Camelot, I think I'll get some decorations down from the loft tooStay safe and warm and enjoy your day folks x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone and thanks for the thread @Gers x
Thanks to @-taff for supplying the Carols this year. Loving it xx
We are trimming up today but hoping to go to the garden centre/outlet first for a hot choc/cake and to find a gift for Mum first. It's cold but no frost today. Was a bit slippy here Friday and yesterday and I only just stayed upright at one point despite good Vibrum soles on my boots. It's the leaves that make it so perilous. Do take care if you're out and about.
Week one at new job done - I'm not loving it, but recognise it's going to take time. Good news that Ms Moanalot has every Friday off and is also taking annual leave tomorrow and Tuesday - makes for a much quieter working environment. I have a theatre session to attend this week - breast cancer surgery. Everyone is asking me if I'll be okay with it.....errr not sure.... feel kind of privileged to be allowed but scared that I'll crash to the floor taking the equipment trolley with me. I have until Thursday to duck out.
Hope @bellabella got off on her travels okay.
Have a good day all

@TravellingAbuela I don't work on Fridays and DH goes out early to work so I always have breakfast in bed on that day with my laptop! In this weather it's lovely to snuggle up and then hang it out as long as possible before putting the heating on!

Morning all
Pouring with rain here but as least it’s a bit milder, we had a lovely day for OH Birthday yesterday I surprised him with a trip to Venice 😃 we are off early Wednesday morning and come back Monday he loved Venice so much last time we went and always talks about it so I thought why not ! I have also booked a private water taxi to take us over (but he doesn’t know this yet) so we will be dropped at the door of our hotel in style, I have also booked a really nice restaurant for the Saturday night which is one of the best in Venice but not expensive you have to book weeks in advance so I am really looking forward to it 😃
Onto today I have to nip to mums this morning to help her move some bits, her decorator is coming tomorrow to start her lounge and kitchen so will help her get sorted.
Roast beef for dinner with yorkshires 🤤🤤 I will do mum a dinner but will probably run it round to her as it’s pouring and I don’t want her to get wet and cold.
Coxy do you get to watch the operation ? I would love to do that must be fascinating!
Have good days all and take care xx10
