Ive been looking at doing a bit of traveling for sometime and looking to book up after new years. Ive tried a few travel agents about multi-destination deals but they asking a lot. After speaking to a few people they advised that i would be getting a single out to Thailand and then just booking flights as you go.
I'm hoping to include China, Japan and Singapore and maybe a few other places too but ive no idea how long i am going to stay at each place I've got a budget of around 10K and I will just see how long that lasts.
First off anyone have any ideas of a cheap singles out to Thailand looking at around 4-9th Jan 2008 from ideally Bham/ East Midlands though im not too bothered as long as the flights are cheap
Secondly has anyone ever done this - im not planning on slumming (back-packing style) it but id like to get involved on some tours which might involve camping for a few days and seeing a bit of history/ culture...any suggestions
Cheers

I travelled overland from:
Singapore > Malaysia > Thailand > Cambodia > Vietnam > China >(boat) Japan > (boat) Korea > (boat) China > Hong Kong (flight to Singapore then to Philippines.....)
This can be done very cheaply so i would get a return to Thailand (flexible ticket) though i did get a round the world ticket as its cheaper (some of the time).
Travel from Asia to the rest of the world is cheap if you book in advance.
The cheapest way to SE Asia @ the mo is Oasis Hong Kong (£99+TAX one way) and they are not bad at all... Hong Kong to Philippines/Bangkok/Malaysia/Indonesia is around £30 one way.
Travel overland is dirty cheap though long.
Done a couple of RTW trips (25 @ the mo) off back to Asia in March and moving around to Asia in around November time. My sis has also done a RTW trip and she is again off back in Feb.
any questions just ask

Really?0 -
Really?
Yep..
Only one place though not all
Cebu Pacific - Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia
http://www.cebupacificair.com/
Jet Star - Singapore, Indonesia,
http://www.jetstar.com/au/index.html
Only done HKG>MNL (£30 but i paid £60 due to PAL airlines rather than Cebu) and HKG>SIN (£32)
Hope this helps.0 -
Cheapest I found with Cebu Pacific to Bangkok was 68 pounds.....with a mere nine hour stopover.
I know you were trying to be helpful, but I think that you know thatHong Kong to Philippines/Bangkok/Malaysia/Indonesia is around £30 one way
The true figure is more than double your quote, with the addition of ludicrous stopover timings.0 -
clearly a rather carelessly worded statement.
Yes
Cheapest i have found is £38 flying from Macau with Air Asia (including tax, direct)
Plus Ferry cost of £12 (from the airport)
This brings the cost to £50 so its still nearly double what i quoted... Never checked this route as i do the HongKong > Philippines router often.
sorry for any confusion by myself by not checking the details .....0
