Swapped SIM provider a couple of days ago, and all appeared to be good. Phone calls coming in, also SMS for which I get the appropriate tone. However, I've just realised that when the likes of Tesco send me a one-time code (to the correct new number) in order to verify the number change that I'm trying to notify them of, I'm not getting them - despite me allowing notifications from them in settings.
In a word - HELP!!!!!

Strange.Do you mean that you're receiving no notifications at all or that you're just not receiving an alert tone for them? Is this just affecting the Tesco app that you're aware of so far?1

What network is the new SIM?There are a couple of networks with outages over the last few days.1
-
Could it be they are sending the one time code is going to the old number to confirm the change of number?

do you mean you are not receiving a notification EG from an app or do you mean you are not receiving a text1

What I am not receiving are any one-time codes sent to my new number. I get texts and phonecalls OK, and the notification sounds for those are fine. Am I correct in assuming that when the likes of banks, Paypal and so forth send these one-time codes, it's actually an ordinary text? Or is it something different?
Provider is Talkmobile, and I haven't noticed any outages at all. AFAIK no settings on the phone have been changed since I was with Sky.We're all doomed0 -

Have you logged into your bank account etc and changed your contact number to the new one?0
-
yes the banks send these notifications as a simple ordinary texts containing a number that you have to input to verify the transaction
they are basically ordinary texts
if you are not receiving the texts from the bank but are recieving other texts then either the bank has the wrong number or their texts are being blocked by some kind of block list1 -
OK ... time to wait ages to speak to a human bank person ...We're all doomed0
