Wireless question

Just a quick question...

Is it a problem having 2 wireless connections in the same home ?
We will be having a second BT line installed for a home business and I will get another wireless router for this line if it won't cause any problems.

Cheers

No it's much like your neighbour having a similar set up to what you have already. Different wireless channels can be used etc. to avoid any conflicts.

  • should be ok if you choose far apart channels, you could just use on BB connection though instead.

I thought it would be ok.
Its for my wifes laptop, and will probably go for a wireless router just because it isn't much more money.

    Thanks

Make sure it is a new copper wire installation and not a DACS solution to give you the extra line.

eek im paranoid about radiation enough to avoid one wifi router in my house i wouldnt even consider doubling the ammount of microwave radiation floating about.

FYI a top tip for business lines is to try and get it from a different provider form your home line. if possible use a different tech like virginmedia home, bt work. while they do have SLA's its still possible for probs to take weeks to fix and if the problem is with the exchange both lines will be down at once  .
