M&S Credit Card £40 M&S e-gift card offer - qualifying purchases?
A £40 M&S e-gift card* just for you with the M&S Credit Card Shopping Plus Offer
I tried looking for what counts as "qualifying purchases", but could not find this information, not sure if only purchases at M&S count, or purchases anywhere would count. I was planning to pay council tax, utility bills with it, it is not clear if those transactions would count.
Any ideas?

Normally it will be for actual goods not services. So do your food shop with and petrol and physical xmas gifts then they will qualify. If you try buying say gift cards or utilities such as electric/gas top ups or lottery tickets they may not.1

I was planning to take the card and pay council tax or utility bills with it. Looks like these transactions will not be covered. I have been trying to look for Ts&Cs for this offer, but haven't been able to find them.retiredbanker1 said:Normally it will be for actual goods not services. Hi info maniac, I made a payment to Octopus towards my £250 spend and I still received the gift card (just to clarify, I wouldn’t have reached the £250 spending threshold without the payment to Octopus, so it’s definitely fine). Hope that helps!info_maniac said:

Applied on Tuesday, said a decision would be made within 5 days. Zero comms since, second guessing if it was just a dream. Bizarre process, never experienced at any other lender before - is this standard M&S practice?0
