Gas meter shows 4 digits question

My gas meter is an older non digital one with rotating numbers. It has now gone from 9993 to 10030. But as it only shows 4 digits shows 0030. Which is the figure I used on the BG meter read today. Will that be ok and they will know that’s it gone beyond the 4 digits you can type in on their meter read app?

Yes. Old cubic foot meters regularly "go round the clock".

You'll only confuse the system if you enter 5 digits.  Metric meters have 5 digits; imperial ones have 4.  Type in 0030 and the computer will work it out.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

Yes - you’re essentially thinking about it too logically, in fact rather than having increased in number, it has simply begun again from the very beginning!
