Aldi car park- Forgot to scan the receipt

I hope someone can help me, I have gone through the Newbee section and couldn't find anything like this.
On 14/11, I went shopping at Lidl and after spending 30 minutes, forgot to scan the receipt for authorizing the parking at the carpark. On 23/11, I received a parking charge notice for £70, and the discounted rate of £40.
Unfortunately, I do not have the receipt but only a credit card transaction for the day.
Should I send that to Parking Eye saying that I shopped on that day at Lidl and forgot to scan the barcode at the machine, or simply do not send a reply and do not pay?
Thanks

Aldi or Lidl? Your thread title says Aldi, your post says Lidl! 🤦♂️ (Confused.com!) PE infect both stores car parks, so not a bad guess! 😄.
You could go in and complain to the manager and ask for help, but they've not been that helpful of late. Go and see him/her and see what they can do. However, if that doesn't work, your proposed plan should do the job. You could just use the initial appeal template (the one in blue text) from the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, first post, adapting it to suit, with a final paragraph to say that you're a regular customer at xxx (make sure you get the right store!), a simple error of omission, not of commission, and here's proof of my patronage on the date in question. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Apologies and thanks. It was indeed Aldi.
I am going to draft it as below, hope it is OK.
I dispute your 'parking charge', as the keeper of the vehicle. I deny any liability or contractual agreement and I will be making a complaint about your predatory conduct to your client landowner.
There will be no admissions as to who was driving and no assumptions can be drawn. Since your PCN is a vague template, I require an explanation of the allegation and your evidence. You must include a close-up actual photograph of the sign you contend was at the location on the material date as well as your images of the vehicle.I am a regular customer at Aldi, had made a simple error of omission, not of commission, and here's proof of my patronage on the date in question.

See how that goes, but as you've got 28 days from the date of the NtK, first, go along and meet the manager to see whether they can help, especially if you're a regular customer. Aldi also have a discrete parking management HO section who have more often than not helped genuine customers with PE PCN cancellations. Exhaust these two options before appealing to PE - but obviously don't miss the 28-day deadline if there's any dragging of feet. If you go early to PE and they reject your appeal, they can dig in their heels even if subsequently the retailer asks them to cancel.Do this in sequence. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. That's not PLAN A.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

My son earned himself a PCN at Aldi after they reduced the maximum length of stay. Going back to site and asking to speak to the manager saw it cancelled.
Plan A is always the easiest way to get these cancelled3 -

Hi
I went to see the Manager and they told me to deal directly with the parking Eye. I was told that the store does not influence their parking ticket decisions and cannot help. This was disappointing for me.0 -
And wasn't true, either. So you just complain to Aldi online instead.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have looked into this further using the number you gave and can confirm that Aldi does not own the land the car park is situated on and as a result, we have no legislation over the legal landowner who has implemented these restrictions to the car park. PE has not been instructed by ourselves and therefore we would be unable to assist with cancelling this charge. As you have used the store on the day, I would recommend submitting an appeal directly with Parking Eye. I would strongly suggest including your purchase receipt, along with details of any mitigating circumstances that may have caused you to overstay to support your appeal.
