Morning All
Woken up to a good covering of snow which was a bit of a surprise, glad I left the heating on low all night as it's -4 at the moment. I had to scrape the car windscreen yesterday when I left work at 3.15!
Bedding in the WM, I'll re-make the bed in a minute. Yesterday's washing was dried near the dying stove last night so that's been put away. Bathrooms to clean then I can get ready to go out - good job I am going on the train today.
Hope you have a fantastic holiday bella, I expect you are well on your way now.
Thanks for the christmas song taff, looking forward to more!
Yuck to the cat poo Rosy.
That sounds like some dress dp1, I bet the little one loves it.
Hope you all have a good weekend, stay safe, dry and warm. Take care. XX11 -
Don't blame you wanting to stay in bed Gers; it's chilly here too.
Yesterday I got lots of bits done and caught up with watching Masterchef. I also found a good programme on Sky about the life of Terry Venables; someone from my era of football so I actually remember all the people featured.
Today we are going to a 90th birthday tea for a lady we've known for at least 40 years so looking forward to that. I doubt we'll want dinner afterwards so can just nibble on a few bits. We had some lovely sausages from the Larder this week and I made the last 2 into sausage rolls, as I had some leftover pastry. They were lovely when warm but might not be as nice cold from the fridge. I looked up the make of sausages, as I'd never heard of them, and it looks as though a couple of local SMs should sell them so I'll keep an eye out.
Wrap up warm folks!12 -
I'm out of bed 😀 though not sure why. I'll go out later for milk and biscuits as the painter is starting on Monday. He reckons on three days for the hall and front door, I think that there will be two of them.Last night the chap up the hill and his eldest son dropped in unexpectedly, we had a great chat and a warming dram. I didn't have the woodburner on but they'd been out stalking on the hill so were warm enough. I had brought in wood earlier in the day but was cosy enough under the heated throw. Today is the day to get the fire going.11

Morning everyone
I too was very reluctant to get up this morning. We don't seem to have had any more snow but yesterday's will be frozen solid now. I'm planning on taking little one to an event at the library this afternoon but will see how slippy it is when DD brings her up later.
She's got her swimming lesson this morning, she was going on a Thursday after school but was too tired so DD has changed it to a Saturday morning. She'll bring her up after it and then she is staying tonight. I have the Christmas books out ready so no doubt we'll snuggle up and read lots of stories before bed tonight.
I have a pan of bolognese to make - some for tea tonight and some for the freezer so I'll get on with that now.
Hope everyone has a good day today x12 -
Morning folks. Blooming heck can it get much colder! I am foregoing my usual Sat morning trip into town thanks to the frozen snow still lying there. There's nowt I am wanting so it's not worth the risk of falling just for the sake of it. When did I turn into such a wimp!! The sky is blue and the sun is shining again but it's not having any effect on melting it. The weather girl has just said we will be back to normal next week with wind and rain so not a lot to look forward to!!
The girls' other grandma is in hospital with a broken leg but in her case it wasn't the snow/ice that was the cause, she fell down the stairs at home. Accidents can so easily happen. She's a much younger gran than me and still working but I can see her out of action for a while to come.
Well I have no plans for the day although there are the usual neglected jobs waiting! Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones or MIA. Happy tripping to those going away. DP1 I had to smile at the picture of your little DGD in the Christmas dress. It seems a long time since I could get my DGDs into something like that! Once of a day they would have loved one! Take care all, be safe and keep warm xx

Morning all
Brrrr really cold and frosty here I have caved in and put the heating on this morning so the house is warming up nicely, my sister is in Bologna and she said it’s like a spring day there and quite warm !
Its OH’s Birthday today he is out at the boot sale so will give him his card when he gets back we will do presents this afternoon when DD gets back from work.
We are having a takeaway tonight for the Birthday celebrations OH will chose but I suspect it will be a curry as that’s his favourite.
House work to do this morning and OH is doing a few jobs on DD’s car, she has taken mine to work, she needs new wipers and her screen wash squirters are blocked so he will fix them.
Bella hope you have a great holiday xxx
Taff thanks for the carol xx
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning all, blimey it's cold, -4 when I got up at nine am after a good sleep. The cars look like they've had a covering of snow and now we have freezing fog. I too left the heating on low last night.
After a phone call to the pharmacy I had to call the surgery and found that the GP hadn't even done a script for my new meds, no wonder my BP is so high 😠 A lovely receptionist eventually sorted things for me and I finally got my new meds late last night but by that time I was so stressed we had to order a takeaway ! 😊
Today I'm having a quiet morning then DD will pick me up for a joint hairdressing appointment. Tea will be lo takeaway.
RedRuby happy birthday to Mr RR.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care and keep warm.

Oh little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep the silent stars go by
Yet in thy dark streets shineth, the everlasting light
The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.
。❅*⋆⍋*∞*。*∞*⍋⋆*❅。Morning....very brrr...I'm not planning on doing anyhting today, maybe some crochet, maybe rope OH into semi tidying the back bedroom in advance of the plumber. It's foggy this morning which has convinced me to stay in, don't fancy sliding around the place while simultaneously not being able to see where I'm going...We both went ot bed stupid late last night and I've just ntoiced the fire was still warm, so I've chucked a bit of kindling on there in hope. I made pulled pork yesterday so we have that today and tomorrow and if there's the merest speck of space in one of the freezers by Monday, I'll put some in there too. I did some jackets in the remoska last night, so there are two little ones left over, that, with some coleslaw will be plenty. So a lovely day of not much, crochet, playing games etc...camelot, that's why I have the seramic heater on in the downstairs toilet [ outside wall and all that] WL , enjoy the birthday prtyIt's funny, every time I say that I think of jelly and musical chairs. Gers, it's lovely that your neighbours are so sociable. TA, oh dear, hope she gets better soon....Ruby, happy birthday to your OH...Watch out for the cold all, wrap up...

Good morning chums my eldest DD is 56 today 😳🤣 where did those years go, I feel rather ancient today 🤣 slow cooker is doing a big batch of curry and I’ve got my trotters up watch Lucy Worsley on Iplayer on a programme about witches very entertaining as well. The first witch in Scotland being prosecuted in North Berwick in 1590. She’s an excellent historian and really brings things to life. Knitting the fifth outfit for DGGDs Barbie dolls as part of their Christmas bits Bitterly cold here in Kent and we even had a smattering of snow yesterday. I hate the stuff ok on Christmas cards but cold and wet and nasty when you walk with sticks. But I’m tucked up indoors and DD will be here shortly to get her presents. December is an expensive month for me as I have three family birthdays plus my oldest friends on in Monday DGS on 16th other DD on 19th nieces on 18th all before I get to Christmas 😳 oh well onwards and upwards keep safe and warm chums JackieO xx8
