This is standard stuff covered by the first 12 steps in the Template Defence thread first post. That bit is there in order to inform you what to expect and do, and to stop anyone needing to ask for help in the first 3 months.

Defendants usually only need advice at Witness Statement / pre-hearing stage.

Good morning. I’ve just received the following text message which states I have a mediation appointment tomorrow. Firstly, this is the first I have heard about it, there has not been a letter nor an email. Secondly, I’m currently on holiday and unable to attend. Lastly, even if so could attend I have no details for where I would have to attend. Can someone please help and point me in the direction of where I can find further information. Many thanks.

If this is about the claim dated December, cancel the Mediation by replying.  Email in your junk folder?

Whilst Mediation is now compulsory for newer claims, that doesn't apply to claims issued before 22 May.

Definitely check your junk mail folder, they will have contacted you in writing

Mediation is by phone call anyway, at which point you refuse to negotiate and offer £ zero, no higher, but cancellation due to what coupon mad stated above would be better for you
  • Thanks both.

Correct, it’s for the claim discussed in this thread, from December

I’ve found the email in my Junk folder. Going to call them and cancel the appointment

    Thanks again
