Hi,
How accurate are the calculations from sites like entitledto. Do you roughly get more or less the same amount or could it be considerably different in reality.

Thanks

accurate if the correct information is put in and claimants are entitled to public funds (i.e. not subject to immigration control)

They are tested by the providers as well to ensure that they produce correct results.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

I have actually been involved with testing of the entitledto calculator (a few years ago, it's obviously been updated since then).
Ensuring the accuracy is very important.
If you enter your details correctly then the calculator will give the correct results.
Having said that - it is best to double check with a welfare/benefits advisor, you may not be aware of which details are relevant, plus the calculators cannot be expected to know everything.

Yes, as is stated above, the weak link is the person inputting the details.

More often than not, unfortunately, the calculations I see are wrong. Invariably, it is due to errors in the information entered.

The one caveat I would make is on the CTr calculation and amount.
Because CTr is not national, but locally calculated it will vary from one LA to another which not all calculators can accommodate.

So, whilst a CTr amount can be indicative of eligibility, the actual amount may not be accurate. Policy in Practice, for instance, has a disclaimer re its CTr numbers.
