Maintenance loan decrease

Hi, I am a student currently and get the maximum maintenance loan from student finance. This started the year around £9950 but I received a letter 6th November decreasing the amount to £9436. I can’t find anything saying the government were reducing the maximum figure. I would have expected that to be in the news. Has this happened to anyone else?

No it is the maximum, I have zero household income as im a mature student so they don’t take parents income into account. It looks like they’ve lowered the maximum amount students can get but I haven’t heard anything about this?0

Could it be your final year? In which case you do get slightly less as you don't get any money to cover you after the end of term/ the final term is thought to be shorter.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Ah yeah that's it I think, I changed from doing an integrated masters to just a BSc. Thanks for the help!
