Probate application where executor needs a bit of help under LPA

Mothers estate requires probate for some investments in her own name. Father is sole beneficiary and executor per will.
Father does need a bit of help and number one son (me) does have a registered LPA for financial affairs.
From a quick scan of the probate form there are both options for executor to grant a power or attorney as well as questions whether an LPA is in place.
Do I do belt and braces and complete and o both, or is the LPA part sufficient?
How do I give father maximum support given the existing LPA?
Thank you!

You don’t need to do both, as you already have an LPA in place you use that.2
