Anyone else enscountered this or might I have inadvertantly entered a wierd response....?Several times in the past with insurers. Either car is too new and it isn't on the system or its value is higher than their limit.
If you are outside of their target market, they often either price themselves silly (as a passive blocker to put you off) or say not interested.

Yes, it's happened to me too. In fact it was an insurer I had been with for 2 years, when it came to renewal I was told they weren't insuring those cars any more. It's their assessment of the risk to them, so if a car is a higher risk in terms of being stolen or expensive to repair etc they can decide they don't want to cover it.1

Try FLOW cheaper than LV or were and LV owns them1

Lots of companies don't want 'hot hatches'. Generally viewed as much higher risk than other models in the same range. They often seem to be driven by people with a shoe size higher than their IQ. Not suggesting that applied to the OP.

Thought it was just me. Renewal due. Got an email from Flow (LV's online alternative) saying my quote was attached, but nothing was. Emailed and was advised that their underwriting criteria had changed and they did not want to offer insurance. Over 50, no claims in 20+ years and not a hot-hatch. Email from LV today offering me car insurance, but having input my details I got the same response.1
