Transfers FROM Vanguard, what's the deal please?

I transferred from HL to Vanguard a few years ago, maybe 2019. The hold up was with HL but all went well in the end.
Their secure message service is hit & miss. Years ago when I used it I didn't have much of a complaint. Used it recently & I think it would've been quicker for me to walk to their offices & asked them my question directly.
Haven't tried transferring out. I was going to but Nationwide seem to be prehistoric & require you to go in branch to transfer a S&S ISA to them so I just went the easy but less-preferred route of withdrawing the lot & paying in to my new ISA. That process went quickly enough.0 -
Anyone who has gripes with Vanguard, have you filled out their survey they send out from time to time via email?

Appreciate we're only a month or so on from this but does anyone know if there's been improvement please?0

I'm still waiting for Vanguard to transfer my SIPP out (started April 2023). The new provider has put in a complaint to the custodian due to Vanguard's lack of response and general communication failures. I put in a complaint some time ago but they won't address it until the transfer completes.
The only good thing about Vanguard has been their low fees and no trading costs.0 -

Is there anything at all weird or unusual about your SIPP?0 -

It is a single commonly held Vanguard ETF. Nothing unusual as far as I know. Doing it in specie so I don't have to worry about being out of the market.0 -

Is it a case of them getting too big and not having the resources to cope? Reading things like Reddit you would think Vanguard was the only place to go too.
not sure if they offshore some of their customer services either as I recall when we were with them for the brief time before we transferred away again, a lot of their responses on the phone and secure messaging seemed to suggest so.0 -
Have you made enquiries yourself?

I transferred small Sipp (10k cash) from VD to HL about a month ago
Painless and took about a week.
(I transferred because VD can't handle "small pots")2
