Morning all, I have been told that due to my other half using a Cpat machine at night and his medication being kept in the fridge we should be able to get help with our bills over the winter.
I have call Scottish Power today and because we are not on any benefits they can't help. has anyone else had any luck in getting help with their bill in this situation?
thanks

Out of interest as this comes up a lot.
Has anyone actually measured how much energy a CPAT machine uses?0 -
I don't know about a discount but are you on the priority register so that you get priority treatment in the event of a power cut?0

I am presuming you mean CPAP machine? As far as I know there are no payments for CPAP machines, the payments are for oxygen concentrators and I have not heard of them for refrigerated medication either. I cannot find anything online that indicates that you would be eligible for funding/grants.
To give you an idea of costs, at current energy prices the CPAP machine would use around 14-18p per night / £4.20-5.40 per month, keeping in the medication will not make a difference as to how much running your fridge costs compared to not having to store it.2 -

My partner uses a CPAP machine and I not really noticed much difference from when he was here to when he was not. So proves they use so little power. About the only thing that you can do is go on the priority register.
