Child Benefit Over Paid? £50000 Earner

Please can someone advise what I need to do. Have only been told today by a friend to research this as they received a letter and shocked to learn we may also have been over paid? Over £50k is 1% of CB every £100 (or part of)
So it if the final amount used to calculate CB deductions is £52K you would need to pay back 20% of the child benefit
