Is Kroo classed as a current account?

Afternoon, just tried doing a bank switch from Kroo to Nationwide, to get the £200 switching bonus & 8% savings rate but during Nationwide application it states...
Sorry, you can't switch this account online

Your old bank doesn't allow current account switching. You can still continue your FlexDirect application online now. Once your FlexDirect is open, you can contact your bank to close your old account or move its payments to your FlexDirect.

So, any idea why Kroo won't allow the switch & will this be the same if I try to switch from Kroo to someone else to get cashback switching bonus?

It is indeed a current account, but not one that can be switched with CASS.

Ah !!!!!!, was only keeping it to switch! Just set up 2 test DDs too!

Are there any basic online current accounts I can quickly open & set up two DDs then start switching?

Also, do you have to keep a new current account open for a certain period before you repeat the process?

    TIA

The quickest option would be to open an account somewhere else you already have one. Otherwise there will usually be some waiting around for online access etc. Though it is best not to repeatedly do so with the same bank if you wish to remain a customer.

    Interesting...

So, could I open another current account with the same provider (didn't even know that was an option), then set up 2 Direct Debits for the cashback switch from the new current account...then just use that current account for the switch WITHOUT closing my other main active current account with the same bank?

Do you know any banks off the top of your head that allow for more than 1 current account?

    Cheers
