One question guys?
Ok I've had notification on 1 payment in arrears,so there will be another before I receive written.....these 2 arrears is that something I'll owe credit fix or the creditors that I can lump in when I discuss a way forwards with them?
You was right about the chasing I've had countless texts, mails, voicemails but as advised I'm ignoring until I get letter, its almost a scare tactic isn't it?0 -
Creditfix don't chase up arrears of payments. The IVA just fails.
In a handful of cases further action is taken so you may see some mention of this but most debt advisers will go through an entire career and not see it. It pretty much doesn't happen.1 -
Update.
Hi guys so here's where I'm at I've missed 2nd payment have phone messages daily from creditfix as of yet no written letter to reply too.
I've accumulated £400 only would have been £900 but car went wrong needed whole new headlight and corroded plug thing.that is stuff creditors don't legislate for.
Been in touch with a railway debt charity that offer help grants etc.before looking at a grant have put me onto a lady debt expert at c.a.b.exchanged email.
Have an phone appointment for when I'm off in couple weeks to help advise me going forward then they'll look how a grant can best help no idea of sums involved.
My overtime seems to have dried up and wife only doing handful of cleaning jobs that barely covers school lunches so I get the food shopping also so it's pretty damn tight.
Surely when it comes to it the creditors have to let us live first ?
Then pay what can afford until overtime picks up.
Anyway that's where I'm at at the moment.
Cheers

People tend to prioritise debt repayment over their essential living costs, and for the life of me I can`t understand why?
You won`t be paying anyone, anything for the foreseeable future anyway Rob, not until your arrangement fails, and when you do eventually get back in the saddle, I sincerely hope that you properly budget for all your living expenses before even considering paying your non essential debts.
Affordability and proper budgeting are key to making any debt solution work, that`s why so many IVA`s fail, as people promise too much to the arrangement, and not enough to themselves.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. IVAs take a long time to fail. You're looking at 6-12 months. During that time the creditors still have to deal with your IP. They won't even realise anything is up for months.
So get used to having the heating on, eating properly and keeping the car legal.2 -
The reason why people prioritise paying unsecured debt over food etc is simple - they are scared not to. You onky have to look at the number of folk who arrive here convinced that they can’t just stop paying because they will be prosecuted/lose their house/have bailiffs breaking in to take the TV away or whatever. The education around this stuff is awful - people simply don’t understand how it works any more than they understand brain surgery or quantum physics! People are also reluctant to look into debt solutions as there is a stigma about them still - and I’m afraid your average member of Jo(e) public has never even heard of a DMP - or if they have, they think it’s like an IVA - and an IVA they are constantly being told by the ads on the radio is basically like consolidation so… 🤦🏻♀️
It needs:
More education.
Less stigma.
Tighter regulation on the wording used by the leeches in their advertising.
An insistence that someone MUST have had free impartial advice from one of the charities BEFORE they can even enter into an IVA.
And yes Fatbelly - I KNOW that last is fully unachievable until funding is increased massively - a girl can hope though!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

You need to work out a proper budget - priority bills (rent / mortgage, council tax, utilities) then food & other household expenses including amounts to save for your next car insurance/ road tax / car maintenance/ home insurance renewal / Christmas & birthday presents / home repairs etc.
Then, if there is anything left, you can share it out amongst your creditors.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
