Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, hard frost with possibility of snow showers, we'll see.
Dinner last night was fish and chips from the chip shop, nice but an expensive treat nowadays!
Short day but working Saturday to cover someone else.
Keep safe amd well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC. I Hope your trip to the hospital with your difficult relative went ok yesterday.I
There's a covering of snow here brrr.
I wasn't out out yesterday, but wrapped the stocking fillers, so they're out of the way.
There's plenty of little jobs to do today, and I need to go out. I'll see how the weather goes, I've got bad osteoporosis and don't want a fall, well, who does!!I
Hope everyone's day goes well, take care and stay warm folks.

Thanks nmlc.I'm up already as I have a dental appointment in Glasgow this morning. Happily the other appointment I had for tomorrow morning has been rescheduled so no overnight stay and I'll get home this afternoon. I'll do a little bit of shopping and have new bed linen to collect too.A wee while ago the moon was still shining brightly, now thick cloud has come down so it's dark. I'll probably have to de-ice my car. The upside is that I've downloaded a new audio book for the journey. It's St. Andrew's Day here so I will toast it when I'm back.11

Good morning chums Good luck with your dentist Gers I had to go last Monday as a back tooth had given me gyp all day on Sunday .one emergency appointment later and an X-ray lightened my bank account by £80.00 and was told to return at 3.30 that afternoon to see the dental surgeon who would remove it as it was beyond filling it had crumbled away underneath at the root
.I was told to go home eat a hearty lunch and take a couple of paracetamols at 2.30.All of which I did.On returning I was in the chair for over an hour while he drilled out the tooth and removed all the debris.packed and stitched it and I finally went home feeling like I had a mouthful of marblesplus lightened my bank account by another £325.00 but the upside is when its all healed it will never give me anymore pain thank goodness
.Last Sunday night I swear if I'd had some pliers I would have pulled it out myself . Such a large bill just before Christmas was not what i'd been planningbut the darned thing has gone now .I look like I've gone ten rounds with Ali at the moment as my jaw is still swollen so this weeks food has been mainly soup fish, and soft stuff ,but the ice cream has been nice
if nothing else.
I have been knitting Barbie outfits for my two eldest great-granddaughters as they are Barbie mad at the moment I can't believe how much little dresses etc cost for these dolls. I can knit an outfit a day and luckily I have a good stash of four ply so its been interesting doing things so small.
Makes a nice change from the three single blankets I knitted for all three of my GGDs They really were a labour of love, and each one took two months to make as they had a pattern of unicorns and stars over them. The youngest GGD Daisy is four months old now, and lives with my grandson Danny and his wife in New York so it will definitely keep her cosy in their very chilly winters.
They sent a video over of her taking her first solids yesterday and she seems to enjoy what ever it is she was given as she whopped it downmy eldest DD is ecstatic at becoming a Grandmas after the 7 year wait bless her
Right I'm off to have a cuppa then shower dress and some more decluttering is on the cards today.
Keep warm everyone its a rather chilly one today, Looked out of my window when I got up and my car looked like an igloo

Morning all and thanks for the start @nmlc x
I've not had a chance to catch up on the daily thread due to new job. I'm in the office full time and share a small office with 7 others so screens are very visible. Will try to catch up on my lunch break. Sorry for the tooth woes @London_1 x
Have not had much to do yet but have met a fair few people and can already tell the most challenging aspect will be staff morale. One particular colleague (Miss Moanalot) was banging on for approx. 75% of her day yesterday about her payslip, the computer systems, other colleagues etc. etc. which when you're in a small office it means EVERYONE knows about it. Fingers crossed it'll improve soon.
Have put some washing on which will hopefully be done before I leave. Bus working out okay although it got stuck in traffic last night so I hopped off and walked the remaining 1.5miles home - the bus didn't go past so definitely the right decision!!
Sorry not to mention anyone's news - will catch up later.

Morning folks. We have snow here too but fortunately nowhere to go. Old fogeys with walking sticks and snow are not a good combination!
Hope all goes well GERS and ouch JACKIE that all sounds very painful and ouch again at the cost. It's scandalous.
COXY good to have you back and I hope the job improves. Somebody moaning all the time brings everybody down.
I started with a cold yesterday totally out of the blue. I spent all day sneezing, blowing my nose and peffing, feeling very sorry for myself! My throat feels very cloggy this morning but I think I have some throat sweets stashed away somewhere.
Not much in the way of jobs planned. It's bathroom and kitchen cleaning day, followed by some washing. I think the days of pegging out are no more and Spring seems a long way off! Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. Take care all and stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning all! Well that's a bit brass monkeys outside isn't it? Ner sner though, just frosty. Fatty was a very happy cat when I opened the door, doing the old, OMG I thought you were going to let me FREEZE, where's my crunchies? Pet me! Prr prrr...I've had two big memory fails this week, a forgotten doc appointment, never done that before, and thought I was supposed ot be eating out with friends tonight, but it was last night, where the phone call came ' Where are you taff?' 'In the house, why?' 'Because you're supposed to be here!' Ooops...Lucky it's only five minutes away and the car wasn't too frosty. We're definitely going to Costco today though, hopefully get some some meat for next week and some booze. It's not looking too clever sky wise out there now, it looks like snow, it's that funny colour and completely uniform...might not be going to Costco after all
we'll see then...which reminds me, I havent done the car emergency box yet either...
Jackie, ouch, to the pain and the cost! but as you say, no toothache now! Gers, that worked out well then, and happy St Andrews Day to you and any other Scottish brethren who are reading. Coxy, I fear once a moaner, always a moaner..you might have to take steps. Izzy, glad you had a good night, it does sound fantastic...TA, hope your insta-cold disappears as quickly as it came...dp1, I laughed at your festive bake..I have two chicken bakes in the freezer for junk food emergencies, it used to be the steak ones, but the chicken now have pride of placeWrap up warm today and no unnecessary journeys incolcing sticks and slippery floors!

Morning all, thanks nmlc. Brrr it's a chilly one, still -1 here and the frost has increased, DS car looks like it's been snowed on. Not sure what today holds- hopefully a bit less busy than yesterday. DGD got the day of her tournament wrong, it's tonight but whether it'll go ahead is anybody's guess. Lunch with cousins went well, new tv was delivered, they took the old one away too, they said it wasn't worth fixing as the LED lights inside had gone. DS put the new one up in the kitchen so I can watch Xmas films as much as I want.Jackie, ooh sounds very painful, hope it all heals soon, and TA your cold goes as fast as it came..Happy ST Andrews day Gers and others.DH fixed the internal 2 sets of drawers in the wardrobes yesterday so todays job will be filling them up.I'm hoping DH will be chucking quite a bit of stuff outCoxy hope Miss Moaner was just in a bad mood that day!Izzy sounds a lovely night out.Not sure what we'll eat tonight but some in the fridge from the delivery, will choose later.Take care all, no falls please! x

Izzybee I too would rather give birth than put up with toothache, its so miserable. I am still taking some pain killers at the moment so not too bad once they kick in I know it was a hefty bill but by Sunday night I think I would have signed my house over to any dentist who could alleviate the pain.
DGS Ben just texted me to say he is taking along with some other staff 61 children to the Tower of London today I told him not to lose anyHe loves teaching, and is so proud of his brood of kids in his year five class.
They all think he's godlikeand apparently several of the parents told him at Parents evening that if 'Sir' says it then it must be true, and they all think he's a bees knees
I think it helped that he had four siblings growing up, three younger and one older and he is used to having lots of children around.
I am hoping he will find himself a nice young lady to settle down with He's had his heart broken twice so he's a bit wary of commitment at the moment he says he's rather go fishing So he needs a nice lass who likes fishing and cooking and a quiet life as he likes camping and hill walking as well No doubt he will find someone at some point as he will make a lovely Dad.
This Saturday is my eldest DDs birthday and she will be 56 and it only seems five minutes ago she was a teenager and stressing about her 'A 'levels Now she too is a Grandmother along with her sister, time certainly seems to be flying by
Right more decluttering to be getting on with
