How do I open a Metro Bank 1 year fixed rate bond?

I've invested for over 20 years in fixed rate bonds with just about every bank etc in the UK, but either I'm ageing fast or getting thicker but how do I open a 1 year bond with Metro?
Every time I apply, I get transferred to another page leading no where.

Would some kind person detail in easy steps how I can open a 1 year bond with them please?

Thanks for any/all replies

You haven't given us much detail but I'll have a stab
    Start here
Keep going, answering all the questions
At some point you'll need to supply a photo of your passport and a selfie, you will need a phone for this. I used the online route and was presented with a QR code, use this and carry on. I imagine the app is similar
If you end up on a page leads you nowhere tell us what page it was

Thanks for the replies, but I found it too complicated, the technology involved although simple to many, too much for me.
I'll drop 0.10% interest and invest via a simple form.
  • Metro are a nightmare to set up any sort of account. I wanted their fixed ISA as it's the top rate. Having to visit a branch is a pain but when I got there, they told me to come back in 4 hours as they didn't have enough staff on and were "very busy due to their great rates". I replied, "Maybe someone should have predicted you'd be busy and get some more staff on then". Politely of course as it's not the branch staff fault.
Anyway, returned 4 hours later, chap was very helpful. Two weeks later I've heard nothing and not received the 'magic word' they send out in order for you to open the account. Phoned up, took me 50 minutes for the very nice woman to take my address and send it out again. Over another week later and still not heard anything. Still unable to fund the account.
Some companies just don't want your business do they?
  • How do you know it's Metro's fault ? it could just as easily be the post office. They are prioritising parcels ( more profitable than letters). You may still be getting Christmas cards in January !

Daughter opened hers in an empty branch at 9:30am one morning. App and magic word all sorted while she was there.

(Just as an anecdotal counterpoint to your own tale...)

That's possible of course. But then, I've had to open several different bank and savings accounts in the same period and the info for each of those accounts, cards etc, have all arrived on time in the post. So I've given up on Metro. It also just seems so archaic that you can only open an account in branch

Maybe getting to the branch first thing is the answer! They wouldn't give me a magic word in the branch. They insisted on sending it in the post for security. I've spent in excess of six hours trying to give them my money - which is mad when you can do it instantly online. So I'll go elsewhere
