So our wonderful Ofgem is allowing a 5% price increase from 1/1/24 despite the fact that there has been no significant increase in the wholesale gas price recently and further wind generators have been brought on line. Did you hope that Ofgem might just work for you and I? Well obviously they don't and really need replacing with an authority which is aware of how many of our hard earned shekels are being raked in by the likes of British Gas,etc.
If you actually took the time to read the Ofgem workings you can see why the price has increased, it is broken down, totally clear and transparent and there is no reason to have a tantrum about it. Just because "wind generators", or wind turbines as they are commonly called, have been added to the network does a) not mean that they are running all the time and b) also are paid for the energy they provide at the going rate, it is not free.

Shame we never managed to figure out a way to harness all the 'hot air' generators in the country - most seem happy to produce endless amounts free of charge, and there's a significant concentration in London to reduce our dependency on the North Sea ;)

The escalating cost of branded baked beans has caused a hurricane in the past few days.

Surely the escalated cost of beans means less sold and less hurricane winds 😂💨

For the TDCV or above user - lower than the EPG and EBSS compensated net price.

A figure the at the time Energy Minister (Schapps ?) seemed only too happy to hide behind.

Low users like me - particularly all electric where prices on ave of regional SVTs have dropped by a lower percentage - however will be paying more net this year.

At July prices in my case - around £300 more - was my estimate - but that was before the drop Oct-Dec.
