Defamation

People can and do have careers effected by what they write on the net, this has been the course for some time.
I don't consider simply refuting authorship as very professional and as an employer I'd see that as worse indicator of character than most ill-worded posts.
I don't personally think you've much to worry about, but at the end of the day if you put it out there...as said above it's simply not defamation if you are just being found out about something you actually did. That's actually your true character they're seeing.

Slander is verbal, libel is written.
You will need very deep pockets to sue for libel.0 -

As I also mentioned earlier I am not looking to take this to court, only for advice for the best course of action.
I think my my best choice for now is to keep calm and carry on, at least until it perhaps becomes a problem. I know that it will pop up in the future, as I have people ready to doxx me as they have done to other associates.
I also think that if confronted, I will likely hold my hands up to the posts being about me, but of course laugh off all the libellous comments.
Changing my name would be a pain in the backside, and almost like accepting defeat, if they found out they could just reveal my new name.
I will also look into that GDPR right to be forgotten thing, not sure it applies in this kind of situation.
Cheers to those of you who offered constructive advice,

I'm certainly enjoying your machinations where you're tying yourself into verbal knots trying to (not) say that you made the original comments about which references were made which you don't appreciate. There's probably a subreddit exactly for such discombobulation.0

but the truth hurts soooooooo much!
sorry, couldn't resist but I think we've covered the ground!
Don't throw stuff on the internet you wouldn't want your boss (or a future one) to read, or might cause people to 'call you out'. I'm not saying it's okay for people to do that (doxxing etc) but it happens and you should protect yourself as preventions easier than a cure.0
