Help! Need to screen grab video.

Hi

I have a message being shown on the Picaddily Circus signs tomorrow and I would love to be able to save it on my computer.

I have screen hunter so I can get a still image.

Is it possible to save a video clip using screen grabbing software and is any freeware.

I have downloaded AVS DVD software which was free to play DVD's etc and that has the ability to grab a still picture. Not sure if you could use that ? I had a play with it and it saves the picture to "My Pics"

Thanks for all the replies, and apologies for th duplicate thread (didn't realise anyone else was as teckiephobic as me!)

I downloaded cantasia and tried it but it just records a black screen for me and the same with print screen method, it plays fine but when I save it there is no image.

Not sure what I am doing wrong, will try the canadian jobbie next.

Forget the Canadian thingy...the easiest way to do it is just take a screenprint of the page as it displays your message.

It really is a piece of *iss (cake)

did you drag the camtasia window over the bit you want to capture?

Hi albertross, yes I tried fullscreen and then select aread and both times it seemed to be working and then when I played it back it was blank.

Maybe it is the way my machine is set up - ie badly.

No, it just takes a still of the window that you are looking at.

Don't forget, your message doesn't actually move on the coke board, it is just displayed.

I had a couple of practice goes first and it worked a treat for me
