How Do I Add my MS Live Email Account to my Kindle Fire HD8 ?

I bought a Kindle Fire HD8 thinking it would be better than my old one, so I could use it for email sending abroad whilst away and whatever and find that I cannot add my Microsoft Live Email Account to it! The instructions on the Microsoft web site are a bit pathetic and don't work. It will only accept a Gmail account. Why ? Plus is there any way to get it added as I use mine for everything.
