DCBL letter claiming I have a CCJ - I have paid to check with the register and I don't have one.

OK, a bit more info.
There are 2 outstanding private parking tickets against my name. Both happened when we lived at our old address - 1 was my husband, 1 was me, but I am the registered owner of the vehicle so demands are addressed to me. Both companies were writing to me at my old address, and they quickly found my new address when we moved. We have had multiple demands.
I changed the V5C within 2 weeks of moving house. I haven't changed my driving license. I will do this immediately - I know this is illegal, sorry.
I appealed to the landowner in my husbands case when we received the first letter, but they didn't care. In my case, I did enter my registration details on an ipad at the time of parking, and I didn't contact the landowner when we received the first letter.
We have been ignoring all letters received since.
If both companies had my new address and had sent multiple chaser letters, why would they issue the CCJ to my old address?
The idea that there is a CCJ against me but it hasn't registered with the Registry or Equifax yet makes me REALLY worried. dcbl tell me that the judgement happened in April. What is the point of the Registry if its incorrect over 6 months later? What is the point of Clear Score if its not giving me a true report on my status?
I have received a letter from dcbl legal telling me I have a CCJ but they don't quote the CCJ reference. Surely the letter is a lie and the CCJ doesn't exist?

I'll just address that one question...eskimalita7 said:If both companies had my new address and had sent multiple chaser letters, why would they issue the CCJ to my old address?
If the rogue parking company and their legals have been writing to you at your new address and received no replies one might expect them to scratch their heads and wonder why that is.
Instead, having received no replies, they rub their hands with glee and say to themselves "great, we'll send a claim to that old address and we'll easily get a Default Judgment in our favour".3 -
Ah OK! yes I hadn't thought of it like that. Thank you.KeithP said:

But it still doesn't answer why I have paid the Registry to check both addresses, and both my surnames (maiden and married which includes my maiden surname) and I am still being told the CCJ might have been missed. My name is fairly unusual.0 -
Thank you for your continued help with this. Are you telling me that I paid £8 to a Registry to give me a report which isn't worth the paper its virtually printed on because it may not register a CCJ from April 2023?Coupon-mad said:I think you do have a CCJ but it has never made its way to the Registry Trust so isn't affecting you. Doesn't 'exist' - but does in the background...
I recall seeing that once in a Civil Enforcement Ltd PCN case -maybe a year ago - and the person just ignored it. No idea where it is and none of us has time to search and it's not going to be findable anyway, as the keywords wouldn't be specific enough.
Doing what Castle suggested is a good idea. It's free to ask the DVLA that question and will reveal if there was a PCN around the time your logbook had an old address.
If so, that's fine, but how on earth can the Registry take my money and tell me the service is reliable?0 -
Perhaps you need to ask your Member of Parliament those questions.eskimalita7 said:

I have contacted my MP (who has recently been in court for racial abuse) on two occasions in the past and he has always ignored me, despite both requests being very reasonable.KeithP said:

I did email the group of politicians who were lobbying against private parking companies recently (and I cc-ed my MP) as I had a PPC falsify documents (this was another one my husband got - he has severe ADHD and struggles with this kind of thing). They all ignored me despite the PPC admitting in writing that they had falsified the documents.
I really don't hold out much hope in getting a response from my MP. Does anyone here successfully get a response from their MP, ever? The only people my MP seems to respond to are people outside the Bahrainian Embassy.0 -
Surely you don't want the CCJ to reach the Registry Trust?
I would not rattle any cages if it were me.
Maybe they haven't been told about this CCJ by the CNBC at Northampton, where the claim was processed.
I have it on good authority that the Ministry of Justice are paid back profit by the Registry Trust for processing the CCJ data then sold on to commercial companies. Either the CNBC or Registry Trust has missed your one.
I would ignore it as it isn't affecting you. DCB will not come round and can't escalate it to HCEOs because it's under £600.
If it shows up at any point, that would genuinely be the first you really knew about a CCJ in reality so you could apply to set it aside then.
If that doesn't sit well with you, do what I first suggested, flush it out with a SAR, apply to the CNBC and get it set it aside in 2024.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you couponmad.
i need to spend a bit more time understanding what happens with a CCJ.
you ask “surely you don’t want the CCJ to reach the registry trust?”
I had no idea there could be a delay. I presumed that as soon as a CCJ happens, it would appear on the Registry Trust, otherwise what’s the point of the Registry Trust?
How can it be that 7 months have passed since dcbl claim the judge ruled in favour of their client and both clearscore and the registry trust tell me I have no CCJ?0 -
Because they missed it. Happens occasionally. Hence why staying schtum should mean nothing happens.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
