Meadows Parking Chelmsford

Hi - wonder if I can ask for advise again.
Driver parked in Meadows Car Park on Sunday 12th November. None of the machines worked in the car park. Several drivers also walking around checking the machines. Driver did not pay. This week parking ticket arrived for non payment of the parking. Should the driver ask for this to be cancelled due to being unable to pay and display or go through the normal contesting the bill contained in the sticky at top of the forum ?

Is it one of the Council car parks?

They will probably argue you should have paid by phone app.
Anyway, your course of action depends if it was the Council car park or not, that link says there are four car parks with similar names in Chelmsford and they only own two of them.1 -
No its not one of the Council Car Parks. I have tried emailing Meadows Shopping Centre Management but they don't want to know. The driver did not have a phone with them and the car park is supposed to be either pay by phone or pay and display. Not sure if the driver should have just left the car park if they could not pay, but just presumed if machines not working a ticket would not be sent.la531983 said:Is it one of the Council car parks?

I'd ignore it if the landowner won't cancel it...unless you can get pics showing that the signs:
- do not have the £100 in large letters, which can win at POPLA, or
- don't make it clear that you can pay by phone.
So we suggest photos of the signs would be the best start. Then we can advise if POPLA is worth a shot.DO NOT PAY TO MAKE IT GO AWAY.
