Paid but blank ticket

Meeting some friends. I parked just outside the bar and I paid the fee for a 2 hour stay - cash. The machine issued a ticket but the usual date/time was not printed - it seems the machine must have run out of ink. I displayed what the machine printed. I was not carrying a phone so could not call the company. When my friends turned up 20 minutes after parking I borrowed a phone and returned to the machine to call the co, but the ticket had already been put on my windscreen. There is a date/time stamp printed very small at the bottom of the ticket. I will appeal - I wonder where I stand as I paid and displayed the ticket the company issued me in return for the fee required?

Which parking firm?
Do you own the car, or is it a hire/lease/company vehicle? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

It seems it is a council car park and PCN in which case you would be better off here: -Since we concentrate on parking charge notices from unregulated private parking companies, you would be better off taking this over to our friends on Pepipoo.com as they are the experts on council and police issues. You will need to sign up on Pepipoo with a non-Hotmail email address before reading the FAQs, then posting both sides of your PCN with your query.Council2

Thanks for confirmation. If it is a council parking ticket you are dealing with, follow the advice given by @Le_Kirk above.
