Morning all. Sunny here now but we had an overnight frost.
Yesterday I made some more low carb granola so had some for breakfast this morning, along with some berries. I tweaked the granola recipe as it contained lots of nuts, which I'm not too keen on. Also made and iced a coffee cake so will take some to DD when I pop over later.
Not a lot going on here today so hope everyone's day goes well.11 -
Late to the gate today - I was a reluctuant riser this morning, again. When I go for my first wee of the day (not counting the night time one) my feet get cold on the bathroom lino so I put the electric blanket on for a wee while. Then I get cosy again.
Today I felt like a hamster, all curled up under lots of heat.
Overnight I got an email from a relative near Brisbane about his grandfather having died aged 98 years old. He was the son of one of my DDad's sisters but I didn't ever meet him, I met the grandson last year when over there. Another one of the old brigade gone.I'll go out shortly, just need a couple of things and I want some fresh air before tucking up under the electric throw later.Scarlet - I used to live across the road from Newcastle uni and opposite UNN. I remember Grainger Market in the days when there was sawdust on the floors and some butchers had game hanging from hooks during the shooting season. Way way back. Good to hear that you managed everything and are done.Camelot - hope that your strength holds out, don't need you go down with something again.TA - happy sitting by the fire.Izzyy - keep counting down!Snoozer - what a day you all had. I hope that you're resting a bit more today.Ruby - happy birthday to your DD. That five mile walk will get your blood pumping and your nose running.Taff - emotional eating is so hard to control. Good for you delegating more to your OH. Sometimes it all gets so wearing.DP1 - you could do worse than reading books to children. It's good that your little one is back to school.Nan - another one who could do with taking things easy. Sorry that you're not feeling so well, get better soon.Bella - can you catch a few naps this afternoon?Wicked Lady - that sounds yummy!Coxy - I hope that the funeral went OK and that your first day in the new job isn't too overwhelming.I'll empty the DW before going out and save my second coffee for warming me up when I get back.12 -
Afternoon all, sorry been missing again, hope you are all ok.It seems to have been all go since DGS birthday on Friday. We had his party on Sunday afternoon. I helped his DM with the food & clearing up. They had their swim with the long inflatable in the pool first, we were in the viewing area above & I had DGS little sister on my knee, little chatterbox
. DP1 reading stories to children is 1 of my favourite things! The boys got changed and then came to another room for the food. Some parents stayed, mainly his football team ones, as his classmates mostly live nearby so it was quite social.DGS enjoyed it anyway.
Yesterday DGD was off school so she came here until lunchtime then DS picked her up and took her to her Mums.I went in town for stocking fillers, did ok but probably need a little bit more. Got quite a bit from £land, they have taken over the old wilko.DH cracked on with the new wardrobe innards so by last night I was able to empty some of the boxes onto the shelves & clear the floor , yay. The sliding doors will take 2 weeks yet.Off out with the cousins tomorrow. Also got a new tv coming, been having probs with the kitchen one for a while, and I like watching Xmas films whilst I'm cooking at this time of yearNanny that sounds nasty-hope you feel better soon.Happy birthday to Ruby's DD.Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
