Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.
Hope your day goes well in the other office.
It's a wet start here.
We went to Newcastle yesterday, parked near the University Gers. We just managed to squeeze in.
I got what I wanted in JL's, bought a few more things here and there, and had a snack in the Grainger Market. I love that market, real butchers and greengrocers, a real fishmonger. I bought some meat at one of the butchers. By "real" I mean old style like we used to have on every high street. Though we still have a real butcher here.
When we came out of the market it was raining heavily, and we headed back to the car.
I think I'm finished now, apart from some more Christmas wrap which I'll get here today.
Hope everyone has a good day today, thinking of anyone who is poorly or sad today
Take care folks.

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc.
Cold and frosty again this morning, will have to scrape the car - again.
Well done Scarlet, you're very organised.
Hope you enjoyed your day off Ruby, hope Rob is ok.
Must go shopping after work, the fridge is very bare with no fresh veg at all. Couldn't be bothered yesterday as I was cold all day and just wanted a warm bath and my pjs!
Work is relentless, it's the busiest time of the year and everyone wants something, hopefully it will be better today.
Hope everyone is well, take care. XX11 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. A strange start here as the temp says 0 deg but it's not frosty. A day of sun is forecast with the temps set to rise to the dizzy heights of 4 deg!
I was a busy bee yesterday and, as I had promised myself, I got cracking with the wrapping and bagging. I started at 9.15 and finished at 3.30, with a quick lunch break in between. My back was aching with the bending and I had run out of gift tags. I thought I had more than enough. So lots of stuff ended up with post-its stuck on. If any come adrift it will be a lucky dip of who gets what! I'll get some more today whilst out.
I am meeting DF (all being well!) for lunch again today The table by the fire will definitely be calling. I have a few bits to buy on my way.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and poorly loved ones. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -

Hi everyone,
I hardly managed to open the thread yesterday it was so busy. Laura and Brian were both working and Esben was at nursery so we had Esther. Steve had a blood test and I had a contact lens check followed by food shopping, he took Esther with him. At lunchtime Esben had his second rabies jab and Ziggy had to go to be clipped so I walked her and Esther to the groomers and Esther had a short nap. Steve then went for a chest x-ray and when he got back I went to pick ziggy and Esben up. Brian finally finished his work at 6 and I made Ramen for dinner and Laura got home after 7. By which time I was happy just to sit and veg.
Today they have gone off to "Lapland", some sort of Christmas themed forest thing, I hope they enjoy it, Laura said Esben was feeling a bit hot in the night so she's worried he's reacting to the second jab. Steve and I will enjoy the peace for a little while.
I'm sorry, I've just been skimming the threads so I hope you are all as well as you can be. Have a good day.

Morning all
Very cold here but no frost, my favourite 😃 gas men are back and the gas is to be turned off once again, good job we have the log burner to keep us warm, I will make them a cup of tea after this as they must be freezing.
Its my DD’s Birthday today I can’t believe she is 29 it seems like only yesterday she was a baby, we will do presents the evening once everyone is home.
Only one coming today as Rob is still poorly and one other has an appointment, I messaged the one coming and she has requested a long walk so that’s what we will do, there is a five mile walk from our house so we will do that and take a picnic with us.
Dinner tonight is meant to be some pork chops but it depends what time they get the gas put back on, we can always get fish and chips if we need to.
Coxy good luck with the new job xxx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning! It must be the disappointment of not going on holiday but I cant stop eating and I don't want to cook either so something is going on in the subconscious...Plumber is booked in for mid december to fit new radiators upstairs and a bigger one in the passage so that's another job jobbed this year. Oh has his orders to find a plasterer because I think I've organised enough so far. I have an idea or the bay window upstairs, we'll see if that comes off. Today OH wants to take the greenhouse glass out and start painting the frame. He's still in bed though so again, we'll see...I booked in an impromptu visit to the docs for the heart clinic after getting a text about it yesterday so there's that today. And I think it's time to put the hot blanket on the bed. And thicker duvet covers. I bought some microfibre sheets by mistake a few weeks ago [ the extra topper on the mattress has made it massively deep and none of the flannelette ones were fitting, or they were, but then they'd ping off during the night] and I'm finding them really good.Scarlet, I love a good butcher. I also, surprise! found a fishmongers is active again and not far from the wool shop, so that' something to remember. Hope your preparations are going well for travel. camelot, hope you can make it through the day! TA, hope you get your fireside table..snoozer, maybe a veg on the sofa and film would be in order
Ruby, happy birthday to your DD and enjoy the hike! Have a good day folks, hope the weather is good for you...

Morning everyone
Cold and bright here this morning, yesterday we had a few heavy downpours. Yesterday afternoon was very quiet at work, there's a tummy bug doing its' rounds, I spent most of the afternoon reading Christmas books to a little boy.
Little one was feeling a lot better yesterday so she's back to school today.
Snoozer - that was a very busy day, you'd be ready for a sit down.
Redruby - enjoy your long walk and picnic
Well, I really have nothing much of interest to say this morning, so I'll get on with some jobs! Hope everyone has a good day x13 -
Hello all, very brrr here. After not getting warm at all on Thurs/Friday I went downhill and was poorly all weekend with terrific palpitations so I hope I never go through that again. I have a BP check early next week so I'll speak to the nurse about it anyway. Thankfully Mr Fix It has been looking after me bringing me drinks and trying to get me to eat. He even made a delicious beef casserole but sadly most of it had to go in the freezer. Sorry for the woe story.
Today I feel better but I was awake at 4.30am after a weird dream and couldn't drop back off to sleep so I have already emptied the dw and put the breakfast dishes in it. Then I sorted the freezers ready for my sm delivery this morning, only one thing OOS and nothing we can't live without.
This afternoon we have to pick up both DGC as they are staying for tea, I'm doing roast chicken, roasties, veg and gravy with a lot of Yorkies 😁 Pudding is yet to be decided.
Hope everyone is getting on okay. Hugs to the poorly ones.
Take care all, stay safe and warm.
