eBay withholding payment till I prove my ID

I hope they don't want me to provide ID.  No photo ID (DL or Passport),   My place of birth is not even on this planet, Maiden name is an Obscure word.

The only thing that will match 100% is my address, even my name is slightly different.  Think Mike and Michael, I just used the initial when setting
up the bank accounts and card payments and it worked.

Ebay asking photo id, i have been selling my used bits and buying for 12 years, occasionally asked to verify with user name & password. But suddenly no warning, phone back with 6 digit number to type in computer from phone speech,

at first did not ring, but found the click box set to mobile, changed to home then it worked, after correctly entering digits it went to photo id. which i do not have, and would not do anyway. i eventually got an ebay rep to call me who after many minutes of background typing said i will need to start again as a new customer, ( 0% feedback). i mentioned my 2 used things on buy it now, that must be taken off, but 2 weeks later they are still in. on trying again i found the phone set on mobile again. i stopped carrying on. i realised i would be asked for all this starting a new account anyway, so not worth it, i have about £16 in ebay that should be automatically sent to my bank in april. i have seen on ebay that it is possible to buy a "buy it now" item as a guest but have not tryed this yet. So i was on ebay with a feedback of 462 mostly 100% and upto 6 followers to not active in one moment.

On a separate issue my old Paypal is unaccessible with old phone and email changed, i started a new account and get a really endless stream of anti robot pictures, and not completed entry yet, if they ask for photo id, thats it.

Recent addition, i bought an item on "buy it now" as a guest, this went through without trouble, i am pleased, the next day i tryed signing in with my ebay issued username to test what i can see, then ebay wanted to verify my email, then i done something wrong,  i tryed again this time it was by phone this did not ring as its a home phone, no click box to set to home (mobile only).

(new user name given by ebay which can be changed) not done yet.

But considering i was on ebay for 12 years then can not be due to red tape, and to buy as a guest when my original account is there unable to get in is stupid, its laughable if it did not make me angry.
