Confused. IHT 207 needed?

I'm completing the probate form for my mum's estate (value approximately 775k). IHT bill of 109k. I've sent off the relevant IHT forms and made a 10% payment.
On the probate form I've ticked yes for 2.8 (they lived in England) and yes to 7.5 (they died after 1 Jan 2022). Note 7.5 says if this is the case then the estate is an excepted estate. This is not the case though.
Do I need to complete IHT207?
Very confused

Sounds like you are using the paper probate form (PA1P) rather than the online probate application. When you answer question 7.1, 'did you complete an online IHT400 and IHT421?' then you should be answering yes as these are the non-excepted estate inheritance tax form and probate summary, the 'relevant IHT forms' as you call them that you've presumably sent off. You are then directed by the form to question 7.2 to enter the figures and then to the legal statement bypassing question 7.5.You only get to answer question 7.5 if you answer no to question 7.1 (and answer no to question 7.3 also 'did you fill in an IHT207') , hence 7.5 is only relevant where the IHT forms aren't required and there are no overseas complications and so it is an excepted estate. Is there a reason why you are making a paper application by the way, it generally takes longer to get probate if done that way if you've got the option of paper or online?I came, I saw, I melted1

Definitely worth doing it on- line if possible. Tend to be granted in less than half the time.
