How long does it take to register sale with HM Land Registry

We complete on our sale on Friday, but the land registry is still showing the date when we bought it as last sold date. Does anybody now how long it takes to update?

"We complete on our sale on Friday" suggests you're not selling it for another four days, so the register is currently correct! In any event, it will update whenever the buyer's application for registration is submitted and completes registration, which isn't usually any concern of yours.

    Why are you asking?

You may have physically completed on Friday but the actual administration, i.e. paperwork and filings take a little longer.

Up to 6 months according to Zoopla.

Completed last Friday, sorry typo. I'm just wondering why it hasn't yet updated and whether this is something I need to worry about.

There's busy times of the year and quiet times of the year. Speed of the conveyancer as an impact as well.

As above, it updates whenever the buyer's registration application reaches them and they process it. In the same way that when you bought, your title wouldn't have been registered until some time after the completion date.

It is not something you need to worry about and I'm not sure why you would start trying to do so. You've got your money and it's not your house any more.

Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

My wife is a bit nosey, and based on neighbours properties, she has observed it taking about 3-6 months for the sold price to appear online  :D

That said, I purchased my current house 4.5 years ago and it does not show online.

(I'm on the titles and such so I'm not worried).

The free house price data releases take even longer, they lag behind the transactions actually being completed on HMLR.
