PIP stopped payment 3 months before review!

Hello
My PIP is up for review in February 2024 but in October 2023 DWP sent me the forms for my review. I sent the forms off and have had a face to face appointment then I received a letter in the post to say they have stopped my PIP payment immediately! I have put in my for my appeal. But my questions is, how can they stop my money and review me 3 months ahead of my actual review date? I budgeted my PIP from my start date to the date it says which is February 2024. Can DWP do this?
thank you for taking the time to read, it has been so distressing,

A review date unless its put in place at tribunal is just a rough idea of when they intend to review your case, they can do so anytime they like.

Usually they add a year on to awards and consider it the period during which they hope to re-assess. (Award letters I think still state something to this effect...'we will contact you after blah blah'.. most likely Feb 2023 in your case when award made). At the moment the system has major delays so often that year isn't enough so extensions are necessary.

However bottom line is yes they can do this... it is normal to seek a new decision before award runs out. The end date is not what they consider the review date.

So yes proceed with Reconsideration and then appeal if necessary. I would make sure you get hold of the assessment report (I hope you did so you understand what went wrong or what has been misunderstood) and any previous ones which may support your case.... focus on the descriptors and where there has for example been no change yet they think your disabilities have improved or gone then obviously spend some effort explaining the disabilities remain unchanged from those previously assessed etc.  Any helpful additional relevant (new) evidence... get into the process.

Yes they can because a new decision overrules your previous decision. Therefore if you're refused then your PIP ends because there's no award in place for it to continue.

Coming back to this. You were sent forms last month, filled them in, returned them and had a face to face assessment already? :o blimey, that's a very quick process! So many people are waiting a ridiculously long time for a review decision.

Frankly sounds remarkable... within 2 months to get forms, return them, have face to face assessment, DWP decision and presume Reconsideration request (not appeal) sent off. I'm wondering why so hasty with reassessment process or are the details wrong.

That's my thoughts too. I haven't heard of a review with an assessment being this quick since before the pandemic.
