Acer Aspire TC-1760 Tower Pc choice?

I'm looking for a new tower Pc and the Acer Aspire TC-160 seems to be the main contender to purchase at my budget of around £350-00, unless any member can recommend a different choice?
There are two models available in the TC-1760 range, one has a intel core i3, the other a intel i5, my use will be general Pc work, internet viewing etc, no gaming.
I would welcome comments etc on the above please from more "tech savvy" members than myself

The processor makes no difference if you're just tapping away on Word, it'll just sit there being idle anyway.

Palicomp do decent computers but there's nothing wrong with your choice
I would go i5 , the i3 is the budget choice without many cores and windows loves to download updates in the background and can slow your computer to a crawl

I would go for a refurbished Lenovo Thinkcentre, for far far cheaper. For example:

However if you spec it up to similar I.e. the 6th gen processor you are only saving 50 quid and they are refurbished to an unknown quality (you should never buy an unknown refurbished ssd you have no idea of the quality, brand, if its been abused or how much life is left in it. After all your hard drive holds important data)outtatune said:I would go for a refurbished Lenovo Thinkcentre, for far far cheaper. For example:

Is it this one you are looking at?

Would you say that a SSD is absolutely essential for my needs?Cisco001 said:Is it this one you are looking at?Acer Aspire TC-1760 Desktop PC - (Intel Core i3-12100, 8GB, 2TB HDD

SSD is not essential but for no significant cost difference is far better (faster) than a hard drive.Like everything there are pros and cons. If they fail then it is quite often without warning so a backup ( which you should be doing anyway) is essential and you do not get as much storage as in a hard drive. Internal SSD and an extra internal or external HDD is probably one of the best options.1
