Long, long to do list today as I have a procedure at hospital tomorrow really early which will involve being there all day, Most of it done. Amazing what you can do if you out your mind to it. Just have to pack a bag in case they need to keep my in overnight. Not looking forwards to not being able to drink anything from midnight.
Hope you have all had a good day. xxx

Hope the hospital procedure goes well @Toni'sfriend and you can go home.
Enjoy the film and fish and chips @ladybird1106!
Very windy here today. Mum had left her umbrella to dry outside the front door and saw it fly up over the fence into the garden next door. First job was to retrieve it for her. Luckily it was still in one piece.
Inserted the extra panel into the dining table ready for the big day. Mum has a beautiful embroidered dark blue and white tablecloth she bought on holiday on one of the Spanish islands many years ago. Sadly it only comes out on special occasions.
Moved the spare single mattress off the top of the double bed in the spare room and put It on the landing until I can make room for it. Mum wants the shelves above the spare bed taking down as my niece and her toddler will stay over and she's worried he'll pull them down.
Drove over to collect our friend from the food hub as they'd given him a lot of food and it weighed a ton. He was thrilled as it included treats like chocolate and biscuits. His last Christmas was very different and you wouldn't wish it on anyone. He wouldn't open the door or answer the phone. OH managed to climb over the fence and get in through the back door. He said he was suicidal as he had no work/money. OH had tried to help him for weeks with money and food but felt overwhelmed. He managed to get the doctor/services involved who set up help with food/heating. He's a lot better now but still struggles with his mental health. He'd like a new dog once he's coping a bit better as he worshipped his old one and she was a great companion.
No NSD today. Grateful for a dry day, getting the table insert and mattress sorted out, mum's umbrella being undamaged and our friend seeming more settled. X

Today I am grateful for charity shop finds, for the antibiotics doing their thing, for starting to relax my body as the pain dies down, for twinkly sparkly lights everywhere.

Solstice Blessings to all.
Well, I have rung the school with the excuses for not making them go in for less than 3 hours today. It is torture (sorry teacher-types).
Dehumidifier turned on, plaster slowly drying. Cashed out another £25 in T's vouchers from the postal scam, so will brave the supermarket this morning. Free shopping 🛍️🛍️.
I had a lie in. Got up at 7.20. but was awake from 6. I don't think I am very good at this relaxing malarkey.

Hope the procedure went well @Toni'sfriend and best wishes for your recovery!
Today is very quiet at work, barely anyone is online, so I'm just making sure I tidy up the last few things before I switch off this afternoon to go to the airport. I'll be spending Christmas with my family and it will be a busy one as my mum has been quite unwell after she caught covid in November and she's still recovering, so volunteered to host both Christmas and Boxing Day at her house so she can rest but still enjoy the festivities. I sent my brother the food shopping list so I can get cracking tomorrow when I wake up, wish me luck!
Trying not to be too worried about the wind, as in my arrival airport there's a severe weather warning because of the wind. Really hope it's not too bad.
I might be too busy to post until Wednesday when I resume work, so if I don't get the chance I hope you all will be able to spend some relaxing time in the next few days!
Yesterday I paid off a second debt, which was quite a sum, so I'm feeling even lighter today, now focusing on the next objective already! I've got 1 more non-credit card debt to pay off and then I can fully focus on getting that balance properly go down. It feels good.
Today I'm grateful for being able to spend Christmas with family and for having paid off the debt, and also grateful for my brother getting the most annoying part done before I arrive!Debt free journey started 30/08/2023:

CC4 - 4,625.87 (balance transfer from CC2) now 5,717.24

many, many apologies, I slept for most of the last two days, somehow managed to merge them into one and completely missed the solstice. However my antibiotics arrived at 11.30 am (only 6 to be taken twice a day) so I'm hoping things will improve.
I've chopped down the 'to do' list ie just decided that lots of things are not going to get done. Abandoned the Christmas cards - will write to people instead, I've just had a shower and put a long warm nightie on. i had plans for doing a minimal shop (one or two things I'd like to have in my medicine/ preventative box) but it's not looking likely.
My pared down list is mainly writing a packing list (people have given me things to take with me) and putting it together. There are a few present bits I've been unable to locate so as long as people have the bulk of their presents wrapped, that's enough, any extras can wait until I see them again or be for their birthdays. I have a couple of things to work through - neither the electric can opener or my 'soft grips' were working well the other day so I need replacement blades (or I may just take a pile of cans to DS1's and get him to open and drain them before I come home.
Grateful for my bed, clean sheets, easy food, hot water, books, films and puzzles. If I don't get back on before Sunday a hope you all have a wonderfful and peaceful Christmas, however you choose to celebrate (or not) and I hope to check in some time next week.10 -
Today I am grateful for continuing to feel better, for time with dc, for a friend of dc's popping over so I got a chat with the mum, for watching the Polar Express (there was so much in it that was new to me that I reckon I must have never actually watched the whole film before!), for dh doing the sainz shop for dc's food.
