What is Samsung Health doing in the background at night?

I usually leave my phone on charge overnight but lately I've been having questions about the battery during the day (don't think it's as good as it used to be but not 100% sure).
I woke up for the toilet around 4am & it had maxed out at 85% so I took it off charge.
I then woke again at 7:15am & took a look at the usage as I noticed the battery had dropped significantly...

Now I was wearing a Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 during the night which records my sleep and I also have snore detection turned on.
Rightly or wrongly (probably wrongly) I thought the watch did all the detecting & then when I opened Health on the phone it then synced (and not that Health on the phone was doing all the leg work).
Just looking to see whether this is just the way it is or whether there's something I should be tweaking in my settings.

When you have snoring detection on the Watch 3 uses your phone microphone to work. It's only the newer 5 and 6 than can do it independently.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Ahh right. That's probably what ate up a chunk then.RumRat said:When you have snoring detection on the Watch 3 uses your phone microphone to work. It's only the newer 5 and 6 than can do it independently.
It's not something I particularly need so I'll just turn it off since it's only going to be detecting the wife snoring anyway.
That's my story & I'm sticking to it

'maxed out at 85%' is an interesting concept. Could you please explain?B0bbyEwing said:I usually leave my phone on charge overnight but lately I've been having questions about the battery during the day (don't think it's as good as it used to be but not 100% sure).

To keep a phone battery in optimal performance, do not charge past 80%, unplug at that level not leaving it charging and then do not let it drop below 20%. Will add years to its life.nottsphil said:

The Samsung phone will automatically stop charging at 85% if turned on. No need to unplug at 80%Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Which is what I have it set to.RumRat said:The Samsung phone will automatically stop charging at 85% if turned on. No need to unplug at 80%
I've found that If I do this & then also plug it in to the car charger on the drive to work from the gym in the morning then by the end of work I'll be at around 20-40% (usually more 30-40%).
What I've found this week as I'm on holiday & therefore charging/using habits are differing, is "Google Play Services", whatever they are, are absolutely nailing my battery.0
