Hi.

Ive heard there is a night storage heater grant available. Does anyone know where I can apply, and what criteria I need to meet?

Id also like to replace my victorian hot water cylinder too if theres a grant for that?

You might qualify for an ECO4 grant if you income is under £31,000. You could get a heat-pump, solar panels, new hot water system and insulation, which would cut you bills considerably. Not sure if storage heaters are funded under that scheme, but having storage heaters may help you qualify. Your EPC rating has to be a an F or G. If it looks like you qualify they will do an EPC survey as part of the application.

Is this something you've "heard" whilst searching to buy storage heaters online in relation to some sort of "upgrade"? If so, beware, I've seen similar and suspect it to be a bit of a scam. Check thoroughly and don't give away ANY personal information.

Also beware of energy survey phone scams. I've been told this before by one of them.

@Phones4Chris @Swipe It's a ruse to get around the law against cold calling numbers on the Telephone Preference Sevice list.  The call masquerading as a survey will be from a non- existent spoofed number hence no action can be taken against them.  They may use scare tactics such as falsely claiming that there have been several fires in your area caused by poor loft insulation.
If you agree to an inspection the nuisance caller will be paid a fee by the company to which they refer you.  The insulation company may or may not be reputable, and you can't take action under the TPS rules because you've agreed to be contacted by them.
The insulation company may even have made the original call, masquerading as an imaginary survey company.
The Golden Rule is never to engage with a cold caller, whether at the doorstep or on the phone.
