    Interesting one.
I've literally just had an email from Ebay saying the energizer batteries I bought have been flagged as they could pose a potential safety risk.

I think there was some kind of recall because the warning about swallowing them was missing from the packet or the packaging wasn't child proof enough.

@B0bbyEwing right there's the reason for your poor battery life, you're supposed to put them in the tracker not in your mouth....

I've just replaced two AirTags which were first used in August 2022. Had to replace one earlier, think about two months ago, all from the same batch of four. Can't remembr about the other one.

If you mean replaced the AirTags rather than replaced the batteries - what was wrong with the AirTags?
Since I thought they had replaceable batteries?

No, missed out the word 'batteries'!

Odd, am I wrong or are these not completely passive devices - you can't influence their actions or battery consumption, they just sit there and radiate? Why would your Energizers last a couple of months and mine from Morrisons over a year.
Could it be the different between the SmartTag and the SmartTag+ (I've heard the latter struggles with battery life).

As you say, I have several original SmartTag and I easily get a year out of them.

I was suprised Samsung seemingly launched the SmartTag2 in secret, I only learned of it it a few months ago by mere chance when browsing for a watch upgrade.

I guess they direct their consumer marketing won at the big ticket items like TVs, flip phones and huge fridges.

You can buy 4 ST2's for £76 direct from Samsung at the moment.

I looked at the spec for the new smartwatch 6 and it's pretty hard to justify an upgrade to my SW4 - there really is sod-all significant difference.

Given the large litigation case in the US against Apple after people have claimed people have used them to stalk them or abusive ex's to trace where someone has moved to etc maybe they don't want the fanfare until there is a better view on the outcome of the case.

In my case I upgraded from a Galaxy Watch 46mm (think of it as a Galaxy Watch 2, if their numbering was consistent early on) to a Galaxy Watch6 Classic 43mm.

The difference for me was the OS change from Tizen to Wear OS (but appreciate that doesn't apply to you as the SW4 uses Wear OS) and the additional health monitoring. I don't want to turn this too morbid, but the built-in ECG scanner actually detected a pretty serious heart condition, which had the diagnosis confirmed by a doctor last week. For this alone, it's been worth it's weight in gold for me.

In your position though, I could completely understand that the upgrade from 4 > 6 isn't very exciting. There doesn't seem to be much innovation in the watch space, except harder glass, thinner bezels, higher res screens, slightly faster processors (how fast does a watch need to be...) and more health monitoring.
