Amazon Account for Alexa

Although I had an account many years ago. I closed it as I had fraud problems. It was before OTP and I was left not out of pocket. My son now buys all my Amazon purchases on his account, but.
Now I would like to add an Echo Dot for Alexa to my extend my home Smart Switches.
Can I open another Amazon account but not make any purchases. Unfortunately an Amazon account is necessary for the Alexa App.

An Amazon account does not need bank details (nor card details).
What do you mean by an inactive account? Using Alexa on the Dot would keep it active.0 -

Amazon will have no problems with that. They will make more than enough money selling all your voice communications with your lightbulbs to the Chinese.*caveman38 said:
