RCI Bank web and app both down?

Apologies if this has been posted already, or in the wrong place. I am a very rare poster on here. I have done a search, but please re-direct if necessary.

Anyone else having problems with RCI Bank access? I can not access either the web site or the app. Moreover, none of the channels of contact are responding either.

app is working fine for me, but not the site - they have posted on Twitter...
We’re aware of an issue affecting a small number of users on our website. Our team is working to fix the issue. In the meantime, you’re able to access your account through our mobile app as usual.

  • Thanks for the reply. I have seen the twitter post from yesterday and actually responded to it, along with one other person, but with no engagement so far. I've also tried to DM them, but can't until they follow me.

I've never really had a problem before, and if your app is still working I may try uninstalling my copy and downloading again. Meanwhile, I will try to source a telephone number, in the hope that they work on a Saturday.

I have a couple of 60 day notice accounts there, and I like to keep regular tabs on them - and I don't like not being able to.
  • Nope, app re-install has failed to solve, and does not work on either android or iOS. Everything else is working fine, just not RCI.  :s
  • Web site now back up, but app still down.
  • Now back up and working on all platforms. Relief.
  • Frustratingly, all platforms are down again, and have been for a while. Finally managed to speak to someone in Support, and they think it is only certain ISP users who are having problems namely BT, EE, and PlusNet.

I don't need to transact as such, but I DO like to keep tabs on my balances, in this age of hackers and scammers. I'm not really impressed with their support function and lack of urgency with regard to the issue.

FWIW... PlusNet user here and I get this...

I've been online for most of the day and have had no issues with any other sites. Happens on all browsers and rebooting the router didn't fix it, so presumably it must be a PlusNet issue as mentioned above. I thought the days of DNS errors and ISP-related issues like this were long gone !

I'm not actually a RCI customer, but was just curious why I couldn't access their site to check their rates.

I think you're correct . I can access/log into RCI on my phone (Smarty) but can't on my laptop which is Plusnet.
Not only can I not access RCI on Plusnet. I can't log into MSE either.

If you use a free public DNS service on you PC (or the Browser), it should solve the problem:

    https://www.lifewire.com/free-and-public-dns-servers-2626062
    https://www.broadbandgenie.co.uk/broadband/help/best-free-public-DNS-server
    https://adguard-dns.io/en/public-dns.html

www.rcibacnk.co.uk seems to be having an issue resolving on some of the global DNS servers:
