Help! Faulty Nokia phone! Where do I stand?

Options
Hi. I was given a phone in May 2006. It had been bought from the 3 strore in December 2005 but it hadn't been used. Anyway within less than a year there were problems with charging. The charger pin bends and only charges when you turn the pin at a point until it stops working. The first one I replaced with no question thinking I had done something. Now the same thing has happened to my third charger. It turns out other people are having these problems across the whole N-series.

Can I get a replacement on the grounds that this is a design fault, even without a receipt?

would not think it was worth the hassell, these chargers are not much on the market. You will end up spending more on phone call letters etc to nokia, who will ask which supplier you got from
  • No

The phone isnt faulty, the charger is

Its 2 year olds now and you have no warranty of any sort covering it, additionally the SOGA isnt going to cover a consumable such as a charger after this period of time

Additionally your contract is with who gave you the form, not the manufacturer or seller

All in all you dont have a hope

smartest did not say it was not covered, he said it would not be covered after such a length of time.
    Gone ... or have I?
  • I have had the same problem with the charger after 14 months, luckily I was on contract and contacted T Mobile who told me to bring the phone in because it wasn't charging and they would check if it was the phone or charger. Turned out to be the charger and T Mobile said there is only a one year guarantee on the charger and two years on the phone. I was told that I would have to buy a new charger but declined their £20 one and went straight to Argos and bought their multi charger for less than £5, everythings been fine since.
