Promoter and participants

1. The Promoter is Secret Escapes Ltd, (registered number 07026107) 120 Holborn, London, EC1N 2TD (the “Promoter”).
2. All entrants (“Participants”) must be UK residents aged 18 or over.
3. Employees of the Promoter, their affiliated companies, their families, agents and other parties directly involved with this promotion and the sponsorship are not eligible to enter.
4. By entering this prize draw, all Participants are deemed to have agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions unless notified otherwise in writing.

How to participate

1. A new sign up must be made to www.secretescapes.com with a valid email address, between 09/11/2023 00:01 (BST) (“Entry Date”) and 27/11/2023 23:59 (BST) (“Close Date”) (“Qualifying Sign Up”). By fulfilling this criteria, customers will automatically be included in the prize draw. Sign ups received after the Close Date will not be qualifying.
2. Incomplete, invalid email addresses, or email addresses that have already signed up to www.secretescapes.com, will not be eligible to win. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for sign ups not successfully completed due to a technical fault of any kind.
3. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify entries which do not meet the requirements according to these terms.

The prize

1. The prize is one Secret Escapes gift voucher with a value of GBP 500. One winner will be awarded a digital Gift Card from Secret Escapes that can be redeemed at www.secretescapes.com for a credit of GBP 500 to be used against most of the holiday offers available on the website. The Gift Card is valid for 12 months from the date of issue. Any holiday against which the Gift Card credit will be redeemed must be booked before this expiry date (but for the avoidance of doubt the holiday can be taken after this expiry date).
2. The Gift Card has no cash value and cannot be exchanged or refunded even partially. Gift Cards cannot be replaced or refunded if lost or stolen. A Gift Card cannot be used to buy another Gift Card and cannot give rise to any credit or debit card chargeback.
3. The value of the Gift Card (GBP 500) can only be redeemed on payments made directly through the Secret Escapes site at the time of booking, and will be deducted from the total cost of your booking with Secret Escapes. This excludes any amount paid to third-party tour operators, where the booking takes place on that tour operator’s own website. If any balance remains to be spent from the Gift Card after a booking, it can be used on a further Secret Escapes holiday offer, if booked prior to the Gift Card expiry date. There is no minimum spend required and the Gift Card can be redeemed against any purchase (other than for other Gift Cards) on the Promoters website, including booking fees.
4. It is the responsibility of a winner to redeem their Gift Card credit against a holiday on the Promoters website. No responsibility can be accepted if a winner fails to redeem the credit (entirely or partially) prior to the Gift Card’s expiry date.
5. If choosing an overseas holiday, it is the responsibility of a winner (and any travelling companions) to ensure that they have a valid passport and any other required travel documentation. If in doubt contact the embassies and/or consulates for the relevant travel location.
6. The winner’s use of the Gift Card and the holiday booking made using it are subject to the Promoters terms and conditions at: https://www.secretescapes.com/terms-and-conditions.
7. The winner will receive their prize Gift Card by email to the email address provided at sign up. It is a winner’s responsibility for ensuring that an accurate and complete email address is provided to allow for delivery of the Gift Card. No responsibility can be accepted by the Promoter in the event that a Gift Card is not received by the winner as a result of them providing an incorrect email address.
8. In the event of circumstances beyond the Promoter control, the Promoter is not responsible for delays in travel.
9. The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoter reserves the right to publish the first / last name, town and country of the winner or to publicise any prize giving presentation after the date of the draw, or to send the surname and county of the winner to anyone who contacts the Promoter. If the winner does not wish such details to be published, they must advise the Promoter at the time of being notified that they have won. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
10. The prize is non-transferable, and must not be sold nor advertised for sale whether on the internet, in newspapers or elsewhere. In the event that the prizes offered are unavailable due to circumstances beyond the Promoter control, the Promoter reserves the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value. The prize cannot be paid in cash.
11. The winner must notify the Promoter that they have accepted the prize no later than 14 days after the winner has been informed.
12. If the winner rejects or fails to claim the prize on time in accordance with clause 18 the prize may be awarded to other entrants at the absolute and sole discretion of the Promoter.

Prize draw and notification

1. The winner will be drawn at random by a computer process from all Qualifying Sign Ups.
2. The winner will be contacted within 30 days following the prize draw Close Date.
