I wonder if anyone knows of an insurance company that can cover a couple in their 60's for up to 90 days. We only need medical cover (both very healthy) and repatriation for Europe. Not flying, no baggage and nothing pre-booked as travelling in our campervan which is fully covered.
Insurance quotes very expensive and cover (cost) lots of items we dont need.
Thank you

You may find a health insurance company in the country you are visiting will offer cover.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Basically you are after repatriation only if staying within the reach of GHIC as most insurers nowadays stipulate that you must use GHIC in the E.U...........either way I doubt you will find what you are looking for.

Insurance costs of all sorts have gone up dramatically.
The lots of items you don't need are likely to be low cost ones, making very little difference. The biggies are medical / repatriation.
90 days probably pushes it up as well.
How have you tried to get prices?
The quote engines don't cope with any complications. For my parents we found that phoning one advertised as being for medical conditions worked much better. It can be a lengthy process however...0 -
Please also check your house insurance as most have a maximum 30 days when you can be away in a row before cover is compromised.Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy1

Pre pandemic when I travelled you could get this for a fortnight. So 3 weeks should be possible. But I always phone 5 or so of the well known ones. Be specific. Find out what cover you need for medic/repat. Hopefully for Europe that will the the smaller figure but you need to check as I'm out of date.Make a list of what you want and make notes when you ring of what is said. Including any extra things they may mention so you can think about it.Remember they will not advise. They will only answer the questions you ask.I travel with clothes that are not worth much, holiday cheap jewellery and second hand phone and gadgets so no great loss but it's also covered on my house insurance.I wonder with the campervan if you also may need insurance for being prosecuted should an accident occour? It's not likely but may be worth looking at.Then sit down with a pot of tea and biscuits and phone and allocate time to get this done.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
