Motorola g84 power button doesn't work anymore.

Obviously Lenovo have "updated" something to "improve" my experience, but I just want to turn the  thing off!

When I hold in the power button now I just get this "Assistant" nonsense, tapping the mic icon I can demand that it turns off immediately, but it tells me to swipe  down twice and tap an icon that isn't there, or to hold in the power and volume up buttons which is super extra awkward, and doesn't do anything anyway.

I thought I had it cracked by just holding in the power button until it eventually got the idea, but it just restarted.

So how can I make the power button work as a power button again?

Yes I can probably wade through the settings and find a power off option, but there is a hard button right where I can press it that shouldn't need me to remember a sequence.

Thanks, but that doesn't work, there are no options like that in settings > gestures. Searching the inbuilt help for "power" has no matches.

On a positive note, putting on my extra thick glasses to read the tiny text on the settings enabled me to spot the tiniest little cute icon of a power button at the very bottom of the screen when I swipe down twice - I've seen bigger emojis in a text.

If only I can remember to do that next time rather than try to use the power button to control the power....

When I first had it holding the power button brought up a great big box with the power options in it- oh for The Olden Days when we had buttons. 

I have a touch screen in the car (the old car had buttons and twirly knobs to do the same things that just worked, so obviously it needed "improving" for the new model), I assume that the designers don't get out much, as when parked I can hit the right spot, but as soon as the car is moving on what passes for "roads" nowadays it is impossible to touch the right icon.
