AliExpress Failed Delivery - What now?

I ordered a small item from AliExpress. It appears that an unsuccessful delivery attempt was made today as I received an email saying:

Unsuccessful delivery

Your order 123456789... could not be delivered as planned. This could have happened because of a failed signing, a miscommunication, or for other reasons. Please click below to view more details regarding your order.

Clicking below as requested simply tells me that it was Royal Mail who attempted delivery, though I was home at the time and heard nothing. There is no RM tracking number, and they didn't put a card through the door. So what next, will they attempt to deliver again?

We had a postman that never left cards and another that tried to sneak a card through the door but I spotted them approach and he
did not have my item with him.

If you have the number then what does the tracking show?

No idea what's going on currently but I have another item that has not been delivered on the expected date and where the
tracking fails to give a reason or any hint of the expected delivery date.

Thanks, but there was no number. But nevermind it was delivered this morning preceded by not one but two identical 'Out for delivery' emails (of which I had none yesterday). I guess I'll never know if there actually was an attempted delivery yesterday.

Ali clearly has the RM tracking number on your order, if that is who is delivering the product.
