Auxillis Hire car

Hi, without going into detail about how I ended up with a hire car from my insurance company, has anyone actually ended up paying the bill for a hire car from Auxillis after a non fault accident, seen lots of threads but don’t see the outcome of any, thanks

Its a credit hire car your insurer referred you to... its not a hire car from your insurer.
Yes people do end up paying the hire bill, or at least part of it, namely because:
1) They refused to give the car back when required - had one case where the hire should have been 3 days but on the 2nd day the claimant drove it and put it in Heathrow's long term parking for a 2 month holiday they were taking. We paid for 2 days and the hire company reclaimed the rest from them
2) The claimant refuses to support the credit hire company's attempt to make recovery, often they refuse to give unredacted bank statements
As long as you follow instruction and fully support their recovery attempts you shouldn't end up paying anything.0 -
Ok thanks, what happens if they can’t recover the cost from the third party? In my case the original solictor did not claim for the cost of the hire car when claiming damages so now Auxillis are submitting a claim against them for negligence.0

Was the solicitor representing you for your uninsured losses/injury or your insurers for getting their outlay back (in reality they should have presented all of it)?
It certainly seems at the moment that they are blaming the solicitors rather than you for not including the hire in the action. There is a possibility the solicitor turns round and shows a questionnaire from you that says your only losses were your excess or such and you put a No against Hire or simply didn't mention hire in which case it could become sticky.0
