  • Yes, or,as I've done reduce the daily budget by the SC amount so we can see if we can afford to turn on an electric heater for a while.
  • @Qrizb IHD 6 apparently

Electricity is 4x the price of gas, so likely to be cheaper to use gas heating.  (Unless your gas central heating is off and you'd be having to heat the whole house from cold.)

  • My IHD says I have spent 3.43 for 8.37 kWh, less my sc of .4201, which is approx 36p / kWh, except 99.9% of that is actually at 16.76p which is £1.82, so I  tell the wife to not fill the kettle etc 😜, of course not all IHDs are equal, mine is  an old npower  one and my meter is Smets1. When you change suppliers eg I am now on Octopus the toy screen/meter may not keep up. Fortunately I  got good maths at skool (English not so)
4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Aint no sunshine ☀️ Octopus gas fixed dec 24 @ 5.74 tracker again+ Octopus Intelligent Flux leccy
  • Yes, gas heating is certainly cheaper (though the planet may not agree)  but we have an extension without radiators.

This IHD came from Octopus (I think).

There should be a menu / submenu where you can get the IHD to tell you what your tariff is.
Does that page include the daily standing charge, and is it correct?

  • Yes, the tariff info is correct.
  • Well I now have a Home Mini and this exhibits the same fault.  Like the previous IHD the 'cost today' for gas includes the standing charge but the 'cost today' for electricity doesn't.

The Home Mini doesn't have a display. Where are you seeing these costs?
