Question regarding very.com

Hello! I recently applied for credit with very and was approved with a limit of £400. Brought a Christmas present on Black Friday and the order is showing as ‘processed’ with a delivery date but I have gotten no email confirmation and my balance on very hasn’t changed after purchasing the item (it was £200 and my balance to spend is still at £400) I only just ordered Wednesday evening so do I need to wait until it’s been dispatched before anything changes? It isn’t showing up on my transactions yet either. Thank you!!

  • Items are usually debited from your account when they are dispatched.  Please be mindful of the very high interest rate charged by Very which has caused difficulties for many people posting on these boards.

No interest if you pay the money back in 3 steps which is what I always do.

You are paying through the nose by buying through Very.

Now if you use tinternet and can get a purchase free credit card then you would be quids in MSE style!

Just a word of caution, Very, as with most of the ex shop direct group catalogues, only soft search you when opening a credit account.

Its not until you place an order that a full credit check is done, and sometimes people do fail them.

As your post is 2 days old its likely you have found out by now one way or the other.

I disagree. I find them very competitive on lots of items and have used them loads. I use the 12 months interest free and have bought iPads and iPhones with discount codes to get them cheaper than anywhere else.
It’s how you use the service that could be expensive. If you don’t pay it off in the timeframe you’re stung with the high interest rates and all the interest is added at once.
I have never paid 1 penny in interest.

It's possible to get good deals at Very as a new customer - I got nearly £90 off a new iPhone a few months ago.
As above - their interest free purchases over 12 months is a decent offer.
As for the OP's opening question - their telephone customer service people are good at answering enquiries in my limited experience.

I always check with other retailers first to see if the price at very is considerably higher and I find them very fairly priced up and most of the time the same price as amazon etc, with the 6/12 months interest free as well a nice little bonus if that’s something you want to use too.

You are not paying through the nose with very.co.uk  I think he might mean Littlewoods.com which is connected to them.  Its the same designer brands you get at the House of Fraser at the same price or less but with better credit terms.  I have been using them since very.co.uk was called Index Extra and was a 300 page catalouge.
