  • Thanks Beanie and Sandy. It's the laptop.

Struggling to narrow down my replacement options or how much to spend. Spent an hour in C two days on the run but no closer to a decision

Sympathy, i find ;buying technology very stressful
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

drat to the broken laptop!   I hate buying new tech - I seem to glaze over after about 20 seconds of conversation with a shop assistant and after about 2 minutes would be prepared to buy anything just to get away.

is it the screen that is broken as although it ceases to be a laptop you can still use it as a desktop with an external screen so if the innards are OK then you wont have lost data.  if you need it for work, can you get them to give you one?

Anyway sorry for your misfortune, its a nightmare when it happens and doesn't get easier

Annoying about the laptop.  If you liked the existing one and it did everything you needed, would it be easier to just get the current version of that one?

How annoying can you claim on your home insurance? Why isn’t your work providing you with one if you work from home.

    Hope you get it sorted.
