Do you have the knowledge and experience to read through company accounts to pick out the good from the bad?  (majority are penny stocks for a reason and wont go anywhere).   Often the market for this is not very liquid and not ideal unless you are minted and dont mind putting x% of your money in play.

For the average consumer it is a bad idea.

I have a mate called Jordan who reckons that a company called Aerotyne International could be worth a punt.

  • Great Idea......to lose money that is. Might as well go to the casino.
  • The spreads are astronomical, you can easily lose 50% of your investment between the buy and sell price. Only for mad money you're happy to throw away.

Penny shares are a gamble and I bet we all know someone who claims to make a fortune on them. Unfortunately, those people are usually like that bloke you know who sometimes waves around a wad of tenners that he's won on the horses at the weekend. They only tell you about the wins.

Of course you could make a lot of money investing in penny shares. Just like you could make a lot of money winning the lottery.
